Two celestial daughters is the title of a German comedy - television series from 1978, which revolves around the adventures of the fictional airline "Thunder flight". The series consisted of six episodes and was an offshoot of the television series Klimbim . The first broadcast was on February 11, 1978 on ARD .

Ingrid Steeger and Iris Berben play the leading roles as former night club dancers and bosses of “Donnerflug” . Klaus Dahlen as cook and chaos pilot and Dieter Hildebrandt and Heinz Schubert as air traffic controllers can also be seen in other roles . As with Klimbim , it was directed by Michael Pflegehar .

Framework for action

The night club dancers Kikki and Chantal inherited an old airplane, a Junkers Ju 52 from the 1930s, and founded a charter company called “Donnerflug”. On board is the fat cook Tino, who comes from Italy and runs the airport café with his resolute mother. As a pilot, he spreads fear and horror at the airport.

Since business is bad, Kikki and Chantal are notoriously in arrears with their apartment rent and have to accept every assignment, no matter how adventurous. They bring a live bull to Pamplona for 10,000 marks , have the coffin of a certain Ivan Leech ( Ferdy Mayne ) on board, fly the aging western star Slim Nesbit ( Eddie Constantine ) to Madrid , transport the princess of the fictional dwarf state of Hoftenstein (Ingrid Steeger in a double role), bring an opera singer ( Ivan Rebroff ) to Paris or fly a vaudeville troupe ( Barbara Valentin , Elisabeth Volkmann and others) across Europe . A lack of petrol, navigation errors and other difficulties repeatedly force significant changes to the plan.

A running gag is the start of the aircraft, which regularly causes panic among the air traffic controllers. After taking off, pilot Tino flies so close to the control tower that the window panes burst.
