Gottfried Mehlhorn

Gottfried Mehlhorn (born June 7, 1933 in Mellenbach-Glasbach , Thuringia , Germany ; † June 16, 2013 , presumably in Cologne ) was a German stage and film actor and a singer .

Live and act

Mehlhorn received his artistic training (singing and acting) in Weimar and Munich in the 1950s. He started his stage career in Koblenz at the end of the same decade, and his other obligations also came mainly from theaters in western Germany (Cologne, Aachen, Düsseldorf and Bonn). Guest performances brought him to Recklinghausen as well as to South America (theater tour). In addition, Mehlhorn did a lot of radio (for WDR ), but also synchronized work.

Present on television since the early 1960s, the bald, corpulent mime often played down-to-earth, affable and often funny characters, including realtors, musicians, soldiers, managers and janitors. Mehlhorn also appeared several times in comedy formats such as Die Gimmicks , Die Witzakademie and the Heinz Becker family . In the Lindenstraße he had a recurring role from 1986 to 1988 with the tennis president Claus Benninger. At the turn of the millennium, Gottfried Mehlhorn, who had also presented the weather forecast when the RTL format Guten Morgen Deutschland began broadcasting in 1987, ended his television activities . He died a good week after his 80th birthday.
