Monika Teuber , mostly in international productions Monica Teuber (born July 12, 1945 in Breslau , Germany ) is a German actress , film producer , film director and screenwriter .

Life

Monika Teuber was born in early summer 1945 under dramatic conditions in Silesia at the time of the expulsion of the German population by Polish militants. Having arrived in the west, Teuber graduated from high school and attended the “Zinner Studio” drama school in Munich. They then brought theater engagements to the Munich Atelier Theater and to Switzerland. In 1966 she was discovered by the Austrian producer and director Ernst Ritter von Theumer and in 1966 gave Teuber a supporting role in the spaghetti western Rocco - the loner from the Alamo, which he co-produced . Although she was to remain professionally connected to Theumer for a lifetime, Teuber was involved in various functions in several of his stagings and productions, but occasionally she also made contact with filmmakers with artistic ambitions such as Rainer Werner Fassbinder , in whose productions Warning of a holy hooker and Satansbraten and Bolwieser Teuber took on small roles.

In 1979, Theumer, in his role as producer, gave her the first opportunity to direct two films ( Primel drives her house crazy and I know, I know, I've been! ). Shortly before (1978) she had founded the Cineteleteam with Theumer, and two years later, together with Gerd Ackermans, she founded TAT Filmproduktion, which released films such as Chained Heat, Red Heat, Jungle Warriors and Silent Night . In 1994 Teuber and Theumer produced the literary film adaptation of Jamilja , directed by Monika Teuber for his company Triangle Film , which was shown at the St. Petersburg, Shanghai, Casablanca and Marrakech film festivals. However, none of her films have been a commercial or even artistic success. Monika Teuber, who anglicized her first name in “Monica” while working internationally, lives in Munich.
