I'm looking for a man is a German comedy film from 1966 by Alfred Weidenmann with Ghita Nørby and Walter Giller in the leading roles.

action

The blonde, attractive Barbara, a young fashion illustrator, is deeply disappointed in the men she has dealt with so far. It is not without good reason that she believes that all the guys she's met with just want to get her to bed sooner or later. And since the conventional method of getting to know men is obviously unsuccessful, instead of relying on luck, she decides to enlist the help of a supercomputer. That is because he cannot be cheated and appears to her as the perfect, non-manipulable marriage brokerage machine.

On the one hand, the scientifically justified choice of a data processing machine has its charms, and on her excursion through the world of men, Barbara gets to know the whole catalog of male mistakes and weaknesses. But the promise of a mainframe computer to guarantee harmony and agreement in all questions of life and love cannot ultimately be kept in this way. Barbara now gets to know one man after the other: the charming Luftikus and Rosenkavalier Gregor as well as the urbane Baron Federsen, the womanizer Hans Peter, with whom she even ends up in bed, as well as the youthful, carefree student Erich - but the right one is not with it. As is so often the case, the good is very close: Little does Barbara suspect that her boss, the shy Dr. Pleskau, fell in love with her a long time ago.

The lexicon of international films wrote: "A poor comedy about a girl willing to marry who, after many disappointments, entrusts herself to a marriage initiation institute and finally prefers her boss."

The Protestant film observer drew the following conclusion: “Filmed magazine story about a girl who is looking for a partner willing to marry through a marriage initiation institute. Only a very limited amusing German comedy. Possible from 16. "
