... but Jonny! is a German comedy film from 1973 by Alfred Weidenmann with Horst Buchholz in the title role.
action
Jonny is an attractive young man who actually wants to be a teacher. Since his modern professional conception of upbringing and teaching does not necessarily correspond to the principles of the state examination commission, he promptly comes into conflict with his future employer during the teacher examination and, in a fit of instability, throws everything down without further ado. To make matters worse, his long-term friend Ursula also leaves him. Now Jonny has no income and no wife. Since money will soon run out, he urgently needs an alternative career. The somewhat windy bailiff Frantzen, who quickly picks up Jonny with an attachment notice, then comes up with what he thinks is a brilliant idea. Jonny, who is a true “Ladies Man”, should be able to capitalize on this look and body! So why shouldn't the beau earn his money as a callboy? At first Jonny thinks this is a crazy idea. This does not prevent Frantzen, a man of unusual ideas, from immediately placing an advertisement in a daily newspaper extolling Jonny's physical virtues.
When the women soon run into him, Jonny can take advantage of this opportunity to combine the pleasant with the useful. His blow with women of all ages and backgrounds leads to strange and erotic encounters. The ladies stand in line; the neglected upper-class wife is also among them, as is the wallflower with glasses, which until now has been deliberately overlooked by men. Big Jonny's little Jonny regularly delights women. Once, however, the failed trainee teacher has to pass because he does not want to evade his responsibility despite his unlimited libido: A minor girl, a student, also wants to use Jonny's “services” for her “first time”. While she is already in his bed, he makes it clear to the topless blonde in a very caring way that he cannot and will not sleep with her. Nevertheless, it will be a harmonious and lively encounter for both of them.
One day love gets in the way of the professional woman who makes women happy. Her name is Monika Winkler and is so very different from the other women the coveted callboy has dealt with so far. Over the course of several encounters, deeper feelings develop between the callboy and the brunette journalist who wants to write an article about him. When things get really serious for Jonny for the first time and he thinks about quitting his job for Monika, Frantzen sees his skins floating away. As a business partner of the 'Jonny model', which also made him rich, he comes up with a number of ideas to keep Jonny going.

... but Jonny! was created in the second half of 1972 in northern Germany, passed the FSK exam on March 29, 1973 and was premiered on May 2, 1973. The film structures were designed by Olaf Ivens. The film was also shown (on television) under the title The Callboy .
