action
Peter buys a record from Brigitte, immediately falls in love and marries her. Peter's generous company gives the two of them a honeymoon trip to Italy. But then the first problems appear. Brigitte, in contrast to Peter, is a little messy, but he doesn't know that much about music and for her boxing is a raw sport. It comes to the little quarrels of everyday life. Up to this point, Aunt Gruber is still able to mediate. But when the money is running out, the installments can no longer be paid, but Brigitte still buys a sinfully expensive dress, it crashes properly. In addition, Peter becomes jealous of his wife's generous and benevolent boss. All that remains is the divorce.
Peter can't pay for his hotel room for long, so he soon moves back into the shared apartment. However, the connecting door is strictly locked and the tone is polite but cool. Of course Peter now wants to enjoy his regained freedom and meets with Marianne, who is very much in love with him. Brigitte is also intensely courted by the composer Charly, who has more self-confidence than money. But both former spouses do not like this flirtation. But they also find that they are jealous of each other. When Peter's mother, who has not yet heard of the divorce, comes to visit, the two play her a happy married couple. Now, slowly and hesitantly, they realize how much they love each other and become a couple again.

criticism
Barkhoff writes in the Berliner Zeitung that the West German film is quickly staged by Alfred Weidenmann and that its main actor Hardy Krüger would be a very likeable actor, the only one who can stand alongside his mother-in-law aunt, who is played excellently by Lucie Mannheim. The story of a very young marriage of very young people is told quickly. HU says in the Neue Zeit that Hardy Krüger, the lovable guy, torments himself honestly with the ungrateful role of the grumbling husband, while Liselotte Pulver alternates between pouting and kissing. It's an unpretentious little film from West Germany, as simple as its title. The lexicon of international films describes the film as a somewhat lackluster comedy, but which knows how to make up for this lack with realism and witty dialogues.
