I'm also just a woman is a German feature film from 1962 by Alfred Weidenmann with Maria Schell and Paul Hubschmid in the leading roles.

action

Dr. Lilli König worked as a psychotherapist with her own practice. Your love life is a catastrophe because of your own fears and neuroses. One day when she was treating a patient, the young Pauline, she told her that her current lover did not suit her and that it would be best for her to separate from him. Angry about this advice, the person concerned, the notoriously flirtatious fashion photographer Martin Bohlen, seeks Lilli König and pretends to be a new patient.

His problem: he is supposedly incapable of love. In reality, however, Martin really wants to show the therapist and spray all his charm on her, in order to take the brittle Lilli, who had stood between Pauline and him, by storm and to regain the male pride she had damaged. After all sorts of complications, the doctor begins, contrary to her temperament, to take a liking to this patient and they both fall in love.

Reviews

“Instead of possible comedy, bland frivolity and embarrassment spread. The film's underlying attitude towards love and gender problems, which is often drastically expressed in dialogue, requires contradiction. "

- Handbook VII of the Catholic film criticism, p. 81. Düsseldorf 1965 : Films 1962–64

Paimann's film lists summed up: "Despite ... basic idea thanks to nice ideas, gags, punchy dialogues, brisk directing and, last but not least, charming game almost Hollywood level."

"Bulky and embarrassing comedy."

“German film fun game with some nice parts, but mostly flat and lewd tastelessness and questionable principles. We refuse. "
