History of origin

The episode film Das Liebeskarussell is based on an offer from the distributor Constantin to Karl Spiehs, who is still in the service of the Wiener Stadthalle , to produce seven films for her in two years. So Spiehs parted ways with the Wiener Stadthalle "on the best of terms" and produced his first own film. By dividing it into episodes, he was able to engage several stars "who couldn't argue about bigger roles." In retrospect, he admitted that he had "taken on a bit with the cast."

The shooting of the color film took place in June and July 1965 in Vienna. The interior shots were shot in the studios of Wien-Film in Sievering and in the studio of Dürer-Film in Salzburg . The film constructions came from Herta Hareiter . The costumes were designed by Charlotte Flemming and Edith Martisek. Lambert Hofer made the costumes . Eva Ebner (for Rolf Thiele and Axel von Ambesser) and Wieland Liebske (for Alfred Weidenmann) acted as assistant directors . First performance was on September 30, 1965.

Reviews

“Sketches with popular interpreters of their well-seen characters are varied and prepared in ascending order; [...] quickly accompanied by music, photographically passable. "

- Paimann's film lists , October 6, 1965

“In the design without any profile, the producers of the film show a tendency towards philistinism in their intellectual and moral attitude. To be rejected for young people and worthless and superfluous for adults. "

"Four ingenious and tasteless" comedy "episodes about" erotic "relationships between older men and younger women. Humor, irony and eroticism are absent across the board, instead a senile pseudo-morality prevails, which exposes the top-class film as primitive speculation with slippery situational comedy. "
