Bum Kruger

Bum Krüger (real name: Willy Krüger ) (born March 13, 1906 in Berlin ; † March 15, 1971 there ) was a German actor , radio play and voice actor .

Life

Bum Krüger was primarily a stage actor and cabaret artist. After the Second World War he was a member of the cabaret “ Die Schaubude ”. In the film he was mostly seen in supporting roles, to which he always gave his own profile. He played one of the main roles in 1960 in the five-part television series Amgrün Strand der Spree, based on the novel of the same name by Hans Scholz . Directed by Fritz Umgelter , Werner Lieven , Malte Jaeger , Günter Pfitzmann , Peter Pasetti , Elisabeth Müller and Wolfgang Büttner also played the leading roles .

From 1947 Krüger often worked as a voice actor and lent his voice a. a. Ernest Borgnine ( Vera Cruz ), Walter Brennan ( Red River ), James Cagney ( No Time for Heroism ), Charles Laughton ( The Hunchback of Notre-Dame ), Louis de Funès ( Radishes from below ), Bob Hope ( His angel with the two pistols ), James Robertson Justice ( Land of the Pharaohs ), Edward G. Robinson ( Jackals of the Underworld ) and Spencer Tracy ( The Daredevil ).

Krüger was also a very busy radio play speaker. Here he was often one of the main actors, such as B. 1953 in the five-part children's radio play Abdallah und seine Esel , where he and Heinz Rühmann spoke the two title roles.

Bum Krüger was the father of Pit Krüger , who was also an actor. His grave is in the Mannheim main cemetery.
