action

Eddie Petersen has been commissioned to look after the two Gonzales sisters, daughters of a Central American oil magnate, along with their friend Juanita Perez and their travel companion Maria Mattoni, and to show them Hamburg. When he wanted to pick up the women from their hotel the next day, they could no longer be found. Eddie himself spent the night after being brutally beaten up in the basement of a seedy establishment and was only able to break free in the morning with great difficulty. Now he doesn’t let any time pass and starts looking for the ladies. He soon realizes that the "diplomat" Manuel Fanton and his gang are possible criminals. First the trail leads him to Travemünde, where he cannot find the kidnapped people. Back in Hamburg, the first thing he does is pay a visit to the host of the “Red Cat” in the hope of finding out more from him, especially since he involuntarily “was allowed” to spend a night in his cellar. On the occasion, a barmaid slips him the message that the cellar is already occupied. The “imprisoned” is called Maria Mattoni and thanks her liberator.

The new lead to the disappeared leads Eddie to Copenhagen. There he first finds two false sisters Gonzales and one false Juanita Perez, but later the real sisters. Juanita Perez, however, cannot be found. After a lot of turbulence and the use of his hard fists, Eddie finally manages to bring the case to a satisfactory end for his client in the Hamburg area: Fanton and his cronies steer the swarm of women and their entourage on a motor yacht down the Elbe to meet them to render harmless when the opportunity arises. The water police, however, become aware of the coup, frees Eddie and the women from their predicament and brings the crooks behind bars.

Production notes

criticism

“Eddie Constantine as a tour guide, amateur detective and daring Hans Dampf in all alleys, who this time in Hamburg with his fist and charm puts heavy boys and light girls on the cross. A dry German re-infusion of the then popular French crime grotesques. "
