Erich Claunigk
Erich Claunigk (born January 1, 1900 in Berlin ; † November 14, 1976 in Grünwald ) was a German cameraman .
After completing his laboratory training in a copy factory in 1918, he initially worked as a still photographer and camera assistant . For a long time he worked as a subordinate cameraman for documentaries , it was not until the mid-1930s that he acted as chief cameraman for full-length feature films.
His profession was mostly film comedies . After 1945 he started with Heinz Rühmann's production Die kupferne Hochzeit , after which he shot a few more films with Rühmann as the leading actor. In addition to numerous harmless comedies and music films from the 1950s and 1960s, Claunigk only stood behind the camera for a time-critical work: in 1959, under director Wolfgang Staudte, he recorded his satire Rosen for the public prosecutor .
