Kurt Ulrich

Kurt Arthur Erwin Ulrich (born June 28, 1905 in Berlin ; † September 11, 1967 there ) was a German film producer .

Life

Ulrich worked from 1919 in the film and was initially manager . As early as 1932 he founded his first film company, the Kurt Ulrich-Film , which produced several short films. In 1939 he became production manager at Algefa and from 1942 he worked for Berlin-Film .

After the end of the Second World War , Kurt Ulrich was director of the Berlin Lustspielhaus des Westens for three years and, for a short time, of the guest performance stage “The Rainbow”. In 1948, together with the cameraman Kurt Schulz, he founded Berolina-Film GmbH with its headquarters in West Berlin . After his partner left the company, Kurt Ulrich-Film GmbH followed in 1959.

Ulrich became one of the great producers of German-language films in the post-war period . In addition to numerous successful homeland films - including the first West German color film Schwarzwaldmädel with Sonja Ziemann and other entertainment films - Ulrich also produced sophisticated literary adaptations from the mid-1950s.

He found his final resting place in the Dahlem forest cemetery in Berlin .
