Being a father, on the other hand, is a German feature film by Kurt Meisel from 1957 . It is based on the novel of the same name by Horst Biernath from 1953. The premiere was on September 12, 1957.
action
One day the writer Lutz Ventura receives news that his sister has died. She leaves two children, whom he takes in temporarily after the funeral, because Mrs. Roeckel, the sister of the children's father, who died five years ago, is going on vacation with her husband.
Lutz and the children become very friends. The two of them don't want to leave their uncle, but he doesn't have much space in his tower apartment, has little money and wants to get married soon.
The children have to go back to the Roeckel family, but run away because there is always trouble there. The soft-hearted uncle takes her in, but his fiancée has firmly planned ideas for the future that did not include children of their own. She spontaneously explains to him that she no longer wants to marry him.
The writer gets into trouble with the authorities; as an unmarried person, the children are not allowed to live with him. The situation escalates when the niece and nephew are ordered to go to a home on the same evening. He goes to the pastor and gives him his spontaneous idea to seek sanctuary in order to make the public aware of his problem. He refuses and speaks to Margot. She tells the pastor that she was just waiting for an opportunity to change her mind and that the couple marry on the same day.
