Horst Biernath

Horst Biernath (born July 8, 1905 in Lyck , East Prussia , † March 17, 1978 in Trostberg , Upper Bavaria) was a German writer . He was extremely successful in serene light entertainment novels in the 1930s and then again in the 1970s. Several of his novels were made into films.

Life

Little is known about Horst Biernath's childhood and youth. He studied in Vienna , Munich and at the University in Königsberg philosophy and history and received his doctorate there on January 4, 1930, his dissertation , the old German street names in Riga for Dr. phil.

After the Second World War , he was an editor at the Mainpost in Würzburg , before writing novels and short stories as a freelance writer. His novel Seven under a hat came in 1935 under the title lucky in theaters and his novel Father be against very in 1957 by director Kurt Meisel with Marianne Koch , Hans Leibelt and Heinz Rühmann in the lead roles under the same title filmed .

In 1975 Biernath published the anthology O old Burschenherrlichkeit , a collection of old student songs . With the two works Fröhliche Wiederkehr or no Garden of Eden and Abschied und Wiedersehen, Memories of East Prussia , he presented his autobiography .
