action
Toni Matthis is a zoology student . He's not studying out of his own interest, but at the urging of his aunt Annemarie, who expects him to find a solution to the phylloxera plague in her winery . But Toni doesn't care much about his studies. He prefers to celebrate with his friends in the apartment that his aunt made available to him, along with the minder and servant Hassler.
When Toni is expelled from the university because of another missed exam, his aunt's collar bursts - she demands that he now have to provide for a living himself, and he marries one of the unattractive but rich blank- Sisters close.
Toni reluctantly complies and shoots at the pictures of the Blank sisters in the garden to make a selection. However, his shot misses the pictures and hits the good-looking trapeze artist Bianca, who luckily remains unharmed. The two fall in love and want to get married. Circus director Zaretti, the father of his beloved, wants his daughter to be married to only one artist, according to family tradition , and Carossa, the lion tamer, would also like to be her bridegroom.
With Hassler's help, Toni is now trying everything to become an artist. He rehearses various tricks with Hassler, but all of them go wrong. When Carossa fails as a trainer, Toni Bianca's father is supposed to prove what he's made of. Hassler devises a way out of letting clowns dressed in lion costumes appear in the ring. The jealous Carossa, who gets wind of the plan, foils it, however, and so Toni sings in the end without his knowledge even in the midst of real lions in the ring I do everything out of love in front of an enthusiastic audience. The best reward for him, however, is that Zaretti no longer has anything against his daughter's connection with him.

additional
The circus scenes were filmed in East Berlin because the Barlay circus was a guest there, which contractually provided the lions for the production. Peter Alexander only found out on site that he should be standing in front of the camera with a real lion. After six days the scenes with the lion were over and Alexander commented: “ He obviously found me inedible. I never thought that such a reaction from a film colleague would make me so happy. "
Reviews
"Boring musical fluctuation with unimaginative hits and cramped comedy."
"Lively dance and music entertainment and lots of songs that should become hits."
