Waltraud Runze

Waltraud Marie Runze (born December 17, 1927 in Caputh ; occasionally also Waltraut Runze or Waltraut Runze-Waitzmann ) is a German actress and voice actress .

Life

Waltraud Runze was born as the daughter of the lawyer Friedrich Wilhelm Runze and his wife Hildegard. Her older brother was the actor and director Ottokar Runze . After graduating from high school , she received training at the drama school of the German Theater in Berlin . This was followed by engagements at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm , the Hebbel Theater and the Renaissance Theater .

From 1954 she also worked in some film productions . These included 1,956 Sunday's child of Kurt Meisel with Heinz Rühmann , Werner Peters and Guenther Lueders , 1957 Viktor und Viktoria by Karl Anton with Joan of Koczian , Georg Thomalla and Johannes Heesters and 1962 Tunnel 28 by Robert Siodmak with Don Murray , Christine Kaufmann , Ingrid van Bergen and Werner Klemperer .

She also worked as a voice actress. Waltraud Runze could be heard in William Wyler's monumental film Ben Hur from 1959 as the German voice of Cathy O'Donnell in the role of Tirzah . Furthermore, participation in an undated radio play production by Radio Bremen Help - My wife wants my best - A conjugal sigh under the direction of Werner Oehlschläger can be proven.

Waltraud Runze was married to the actor Kurt Waitzmann from 1950 until his death .
