The Lucas Trio
The Lucas Trio was a German vocal ensemble from the early 1950s.
history
Botho Lucas founded the Lucas-Trio in 1950 with the guitarist Günter Vogel and the bassist Horst Schwarm. In addition to appearances in Berlin, the trio, for which Lucas also contributed the vocal arrangements, made regular music for RIAS radio broadcasts . In 1951 the formation of the Lucas trio changed: Arno Goßrau took over the guitar for Vogel and the later cellist Hans Berthold took over the bass for Schwarm. The Lucas trio was able to record its greatest successes in this composition. At the beginning of the 1950s, the first record deals followed for titles such as Little Bear of Berlin and Little White Snowman . In the latter, the Hammond organist Gerhard Gregor also took part as a guest musician. Various tours and further appearances on the radio followed. By combining accordion , guitar and bass , the group caught the taste of the time and quickly became popular. With the death of Arno Gossrau in 1955, the group broke up. The bassist Hans Berthold married Grit "Gigi" Erhardt, the oldest daughter of Heinz Erhardt , settled in Hamburg and worked as a cellist , a. a. for the Hamburg State Opera and James Last . Botho Lucas founded the Botho Lucas Choir and went to Cologne, where he a. a. worked for Bibi Johns , Caterina Valente , Chris Howland and Bill Ramsey .
The music producer and daughter of Hans Berthold, Nicola Tyszkiewicz, had 14 tracks revised in 2013. These are offered under the title Best of Lucas Trio via various online portals.
