Else Reval (born Else Langer ; born June 14, 1893 in Berlin , German Empire ; † January 25, 1978 in Berlin) was a German actress .

Life

After completing her ballet training, she performed under her maiden name as a dancer at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin and at the Royal Theater in Wiesbaden as early as 1907 . She worked in Wiesbaden until 1912 and then became a solo dancer at the Essen City Theater.

In 1914 she returned to Berlin and turned into an actress. She had appearances at the Komische Oper , the Metropoltheater and the Komödie. In the twenties, Else Reval was used more and more often in silent films. She became a very busy film actress and was able to continue her career without any problems with the beginning of the sound film age. However, her roles in the comedies and entertainment films in which she appeared have mostly remained rather small. For example, she played flower women, cloakroom attendants, sausage sellers and especially often cooks. Despite the large number of her film appearances, the media continued to take little notice of her, and she remained unknown to most of the cinema audience.

In 1955 Else Reval went to Karlsruhe, where she accepted an engagement at the Badisches Staatstheater . She stayed there until 1963 and then returned to Berlin. Here she gave her last performances at the Hansa Theater, among other places. She also worked for radio and television.
