Schlag to Schlag is a German comedy film from 1959 with Peter Alexander in the leading role. It is a remake of the Heinz Rühmann film Paradies der Bachelors from 1939.
action
Hugo Bartels is a registrar who has married countless couples. But for him, getting married doesn't really work out. Hugo has already been divorced twice, although he has not cheated on his wives and is actually a good guy in other respects.
His first marriage to Gisela failed because Hugo was more interested in football than in his wife. His second marriage to Mary failed because of his new model railway, which he was paying too much attention to.
Because of the divorces , Hugo is not exactly a role model in office. Therefore, he has to promise councilor Mögele and the mayor never to marry again.
Together with the staunch bachelors Caesar and Balduin, Hugo founds a shared flat for men to which women should not have access. Hugo's ex-wives secretly approach his two roommates and Hugo himself has to comfort the attractive Isabella, who was left behind by her groom.
In the end, female seduction triumphs over the principles of the three bachelors and so again three couples are married.
