Life
Gerold Wanke had an engagement at the city theater in Regensburg from 1951 to 1953 . From 1953 to 1955 he played at the municipal theaters in Hagen and the theater of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck . In Lübeck he played Spiegelberg in Friedrich Schiller's Die Räuber in 1954 and Schwejk in the stage version of Jaroslav Hašek's The Good Soldier Schwejk in 1955 . Other stations included the Wuppertaler Bühnen (1955 to 1957) and later the theater of the free Volksbühne Berlin (1966 to 1967).
Wanke worked mainly in the 1950s and 1960s in numerous film and television productions .
