Hans-Joachim Kerschkamp (born February 25, 1915 in Hanover ; † 1997 ) was a German officer, most recently a brigadier general in the Bundeswehr . He was the commander of the Army Officer's School I in Hanover.

In 1934 Kerschkamp joined the 16th Infantry Regiment in Oldenburg as a flag squire in the Reichswehr .

In 1936 he attended the war school in Munich. He then served as platoon leader in the 65th Infantry Regiment in Delmenhorst and in the Guard Regiment in Berlin. From 1937 to 1939 he was a supervisory officer at the war school in Potsdam. From 1939 to 1941 he served as a company commander in the 65th Infantry Regiment in Delmenhorst. In 1941 and again in 1942 he was wounded. In 1942 he was IIa of the 22nd Infantry Division and Ic of the LVI. (56th) Panzer Corps. From 1942 to 1944 he was Ia and chief of the general staff at the Döberitz infantry school .

In 1944 he was battalion commander of the II./Luftwaffenjägerregiment 33. From 1942 to 1944 he spent in Canadian and British captivity .

In 1959 he became commander of the 191 Panzer Grenadier Battalion in Ahlen. In 1961/62 he was teaching group commander B at the HOS I. From 1962 to 1965 he was consultant P IV 2 in the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn. In 1964 he became the commander of Panzergrenadierbrigade 4 in Göttingen.

From 1968 until the end of his service life in 1972 he was commander of HOS I.

Insurance activity

Kerschkamp, ​​who trained as an insurance salesman (IHK) in 1956, was appointed director of VGH Insurance after his service .

Kerschkamp was married.
