Heinz-Joachim Müller-Lankow

Heinz-Joachim Hermann Otto Müller-Lankow (born October 1, 1910 in Meiningen ; † February 26, 1979 in Großburgwedel ) was a German police and army officer, most recently a brigadier general in the Bundeswehr. From 1966 to 1968 he was commander of the Army Officer's School I.

Life

Promotions

In 1929 he joined the Hamburg State Police as an officer candidate . In 1931/32 he took part in the officers' course in Hamburg. In 1932 he acquired driving license classes I to III. In 1933 he was promoted to police lieutenant and platoon leader in the state police. In 1933/34 he was in command of the 13th / 6th Infantry Regiment. Then he was an orderly officer in the HANSA state police group, during which time he was promoted to lieutenant police officer (1934). In 1934/35 he was again a platoon leader in the 13th / State Police Group in Hamburg.

In 1935 he was accepted into the army (Wehrmacht) . He was first platoon leader in the 13th / Infantry Regiment Gumbinnen, then company commander. In 1936 he attended the Döberitz infantry school . In the same year he was assigned to fortress pioneer staff III. In 1939 he passed the military district examination. In 1939/40 he became head of inspection at the infantry school. In 1940 he took over the company of the 4th / (MG) Infantry Regiment 22. He then completed the 2nd general staff course at the Berlin War School . In 1941 he took part in a seminar with the head of transport. In 1941/42 he was group leader in the field transport department in the Army General Staff in Zossen and stayed in the Hohenlychen and Bad Gastein reserve hospital . In 1942/43 he was second general staff officer (Ib) of the 323rd Infantry Division . In 1943 he was wounded in the reserve hospital. It followed his activity as quartermaster of the XII. Army Corps . In 1943/44 he was the first general staff officer (Ia) of the LV. Army Corps and in 1944 the 708th Infantry Division. In August 1944 he was then taken prisoner of war .

From 1947 to 1955 he worked as a worker, volunteer, businessman and employee. In 1955 he joined the German Armed Forces , where he was initially chief of staff for the head of acceptance in Defense Area V in Stuttgart. In 1956/57 he took over the management. In 1957 he was deputy commander and from 1957 to 1959 commander of the B4 combat force . In 1959 he became the commander of Panzergrenadierbrigade 11 in Bogen. From 1959 to 1962 he acted as teaching group commander of the Bundeswehr school for internal leadership in Koblenz. In 1962/63 he was sub-department head internal management , personnel in the command staff of the Bundeswehr (Fü BI) in Bonn. 1964/65 he was used as head of the Federal Armed Forces Office in Bonn. The service of the head of office in the troop office in Cologne was then regulated. 1966–1968 he was commander of the Army Officer School I in Hanover. In 1968 he retired from service.

Müller-Lankow was married and the father of four children.
