Combat troop

Combat troops are, in military parlance, troops charged with direct combat against enemy troops.

Combat troops are divided into mechanized (armored) troops and (today motorized ) infantry .

In Germany the armored troops include the armored troops and the armored infantry troops . The infantry in the Bundeswehr consists of paratroopers , mountain fighters and hunters . The German special forces in the army form a separate part of the combat troops.

Combat support troops such as army aviators , engineers and artillery support the combat force. Further groups of troops are the command support troops , the logistics troops and the medical troops .
