Example of a word with ŀ

Ŀ (lower case ŀ) is a combination of an L followed by a midpoint . In Catalan this combination is used to pronunciation than two consecutive L [ l ] to select, as the digraph ll own phonetic value [ʎ] has. In Catalan-language texts, however, the representation with L · is usually preferred, i.e. an L followed by · (center point). The typographic recommendation of the University of Pompeu Fabra provides for an optical compensation of the character spacing.
