ƛ
ƛ
The ƛ is a letter in the Latin writing system .
The letter is a widely used phonetic symbol, especially in America, to represent the affricates / t͡ɬ /. This is very common in the languages of the American continent and is therefore circumscribed with this symbol.
The letter was formed from the Greek lowercase lambda , which was already in use as a phonetic symbol, by adding a bar at the top, analogous to Ł , which is also used as a phonetic symbol. A capital letter does not exist.
