The Ꝇ (lower case ꝇ) is a letter of the Latin writing system . It consists of an L that has been typographically "broken" in the middle.
The character is used in transcriptions of Middle Nordic texts to represent a geminated L (/ lː /). This was a phonemic sound in Middle Norse and was represented in contemporary scripts by the digraph II .
