Armored combat troops

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Armored combat troops in the German army were a group of troops that consisted of the following troops:

The armored combat troops, in contrast to the infantry ( paratroopers , mountain fighters and hunters ; until 1995 also tank grenadiers), formed the armored and fully mechanized core of the combat forces . Most recently, the armored troop school and the general of the armored troops (at that time also called the general of the armored combat troops) were in charge of the further development and training of this military unit . The tank destroyer force was disbanded in 2006. The tank reconnaissance force was merged into the army reconnaissance force in 2008 . Even before 2008, in anticipation of this realignment, it no longer had any combat or armored personnel carriers and is now counted among the operational and command support forces . Therefore, the army decided to rename the armored combat troops in 2005 in anticipation of the upcoming reclassifications into armored troops ( plural !). The armored troops today consist of the armored infantry and the armored troops.
