Film sheets

Die Filmblätter was a German film magazine that appeared in Berlin from 1948 to 1969 .

history

Until 1949 they appeared under the title Berliner Filmblätter . The film papers described themselves as a specialist organ of the German film industry and thus differed considerably from the confessional film press, which was influential at the same time. In contrast to the Catholic Film Service and the Evangelical Film Observer, German film productions were generally presented extremely positively.

In 1951, the film papers introduced the so-called film race. This involved observing the schedules of the movie theaters in the key cities of Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Hanover, Cologne, Munich and Stuttgart. It was based on the count of the individual term stints that each film could achieve in the cities mentioned. The film with the most deadlines in a calendar year was awarded the special prize, and the film with the most deadlines in a season was awarded the box office.

The film sheets were merged with the magazine Filmecho / Filmwoche in 1962 , but continued to exist under their own name until 1969. For years, Filmecho / Filmwoche appeared with the addition “united with filmblätter ”.
