Kurt Ulrich (born August 27, 1926 in Berlin ) is a German actor and director .

Life

After attending the drama school of the Berlin Hebbel Theater , Kurt Ulrich, often also Kurt Ullrich, received an engagement at the Theater der Freund in Berlin from 1950 to 1952 . From 1953 he had a contract with DEFA , where he starred in several films (including leading roles). From 1957 he devoted himself almost exclusively to appearances on German television broadcasting in the GDR.

Like many of his colleagues, Kurt Ulrich lived in West Berlin , but worked in East Berlin . After the construction of the Berlin Wall , he moved his sphere of activity to West Berlin, where he directed entertainment programs such as Der goldene Schuß and Drei Mal Neun for the newly founded ZDF . The popular science Knoff Hoff Show , which ran under his direction from 1986 to 1990, was also very successful with its numerous experiments.
