Herbert Tennigkeit

Herbert Tennigkeit (born February 28, 1937 in Gröszpelken , Pogegen district , Memelland ) is a German actor , radio play speaker and voice actor .

Life

Tennigkeit, born and raised in East Prussia , fled the Red Army with his mother and brothers in 1944 to Saxony and came to Berlin with his family . At the request of his mother, he first learned a proper profession and trained as a painter and house painter . From 1962 to 1964 he completed private acting training with the actor Otto Ströhlin in Düsseldorf . He also took singing lessons .

Tennigkeit had theater engagements at the West German Tourneetheater in Remscheid , the Landesbühne Hannover , the Stadttheater Lüneburg , the Städtische Bühnen Köln , the Ernst-Deutsch-Theater in Hamburg , the Theater im Zimmer in Hamburg and at the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen . He played boulevard theater at the Komödie Hamburg, the Komödie Frankfurt and the Altonaer Theater in Hamburg. He also took part in touring productions that made him a. a. led to the Netherlands , Austria and Great Britain .

As a theater actor, Tennigkeit interpreted a wide repertoire , the pieces by William Shakespeare , the German authors of the classical period , the theater of the turn of the century , but also pieces of the modern and contemporary theater ( John Osborne , Rolf Hochhuth ) as well as operettas and musicals ( Irma la Douce ) included. He played stage roles in What you want , Much Ado About Nothing (as Leonato), The Broken Jug , The Cherry Orchard , The Holy Johanna , The Caucasian Chalk Circle , Mother Courage and Her Children and Outside the Door, among others .

He was also in the Jules Verne radio plays A Journey on Comet Gallia (as Ben-Zouf) and The Czar's Courier (as Nikolai). In 1975 he was part of the cast of the radio play Wolfsblut as Drei Adler . He was also in the episode The Three ??? and the ghost train from the radio play series The Three ??? to listen. In 1983 he took over in a radio recording of Radio Bremen a role in the Kriminalhörspiel localization of Mark Brandis . In September 2010 the radio play Das Herz des Kristallwaldes from the radio play series The Last Heroes was published, in which Tennigkeit speaks the role of the old druid .

Tennigkeit also played numerous roles in television films and series from the late 1970s. He was mainly used as a character actor , often in concise supporting roles. Tennigkeit, who also worked regularly as a voice actor, lent his voice to Alan Oppenheimer in the American cartoon series Bravestarr . He also spoke the "Skeletor" in the animated series He-Man .

Tennigkeit also emerged intensely as a reciter . During his readings, he often interpreted cheerful, contemplative texts in East Prussian dialect and works by writers from East Prussia, including by Siegfried Lenz ( Suleyken was so tender ) and Günther Ruddies ( Where do the Marjellchens come from? ).

Tennigkeit has lived in Hamburg since 1979. He was close friends with the actress Mady Rahl from a joint theater tour until her death.
