Herbert Fleischmann

Herbert Fleischmann (born March 13, 1925 in Nuremberg ; † April 5, 1984 in Cavigliano ) was a German film and television actor as well as radio play and voice actor .

Life

Fleischmann's distinctive voice brought him into contact with radio after the Second World War, he was repeatedly hired by radio for readings and radio plays. Mainly he worked for the Bavarian Radio , where he appeared in the radio plays Amgrün Strand der Spree (1956), The Black Cloud (1958), The Guilty Time (1961), The Christmas Eve (1965), Permit, my name is Cox - Many thanks for the cold buffet (1969), Das Faß (1973) and Der Fall Dr. Crippen (1979) was heard.

Fleischmann completed his acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and then played at the Kammerspiele Bremen . He had other stage appearances in Baden-Baden, Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart, Zurich and Munich. He made his screen debut in 1961 in Barbara . In the cinema he was often seen in film adaptations of the novels by Johannes Mario Simmel . From 1962 his career as a television actor began. He was best known for his role as a scientist Dr. Schiller in Raumpatrouille and numerous episodes of the crime series Derrick and Der Kommissar . He also dubbed actors such as James Drury and Robert Newton mainly for television series .

Fleischmann was married to Ruth Leuwerik for three years from 1949 and later to Miriam Spoerri . He died of heart failure in Cavigliano, Switzerland, in 1984 and was buried there. The eulogy was made by his friend Henry Jaeger .

  • In 1972 he received the Ernst Lubitsch Prize from the film journalists for portraying a circus clown in the film Das Freudenhaus .
