A case for Männdli is a Swiss crime series from the 1970s. It was first broadcast on ARD in August 1973, and from April 6, 1978, the series was also broadcast in the GDR . In a total of 26 episodes with lots of local Zurich flavor, Max Männdli ( Ruedi Walter ) investigates as an employee of the Tobler detective agency ( Inigo Gallo ).

Performers were well-known actors who can also be seen in other German-language crime novels, including Rosemarie Fendel , Harald Leipnitz , Ruth Maria Kubitschek , Kurt Beck , Margarethe von Trotta , Wolfgang Kieling , Rose Renée Roth and Christine Wodetzky .

The series was last repeated in June 2010 on Bayerischer Rundfunk and in September 2016 on Swiss radio and television , which restored the series on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Ruedi Walter's birthday .

Private detective Max Männdli lives in Zurich and loves his job, for which, in Swiss fashion, he always takes the time. When solving his cases, he often chooses his own investigation methods that are not for everyone, but always very effective in the end. His secretary Rosa Emmenegger is at his side. In his research for private individuals and sometimes also for companies, Mannli always tracks down crimes, which he also clears up at the same time.
