Alfred Schlageter (born August 26, 1896 in Basel , † September 23, 1981 in Zurich ) was a Swiss actor .

Life

Alfred Schlageter played mainly in the theater, but since the 1920s he has also appeared in several films. He had engagements at the Stadttheater Basel (1916 to 1918), at the Städtische Bühnen Leipzig (1918 to 1944) and from 1944 at the Stadttheater Basel. From 1951 to 1954 he also played at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg .

Schlageter took on all the major roles in the field of bon vivants and père noble. In Basel he appeared in George Bernard Shaw's Der Kaiser von Amerika , Gerhart Hauptmann's Before Sunset and Christopher Fry's Venus in the Light . Since 1934 he held the title Chamber Actor .

He was also active in radio and worked from 1920 to 1944 for the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk Leipzig, from 1944 for the state broadcaster Beromünster and from 1951 for the NWDR .

His grave in the Enzenbühl cemetery in Zurich has already been abandoned.

Alfred Schlageter was married to the actress and singer Agnes Delsarto (1892-1965).
