Günther Stoll

Günther Stoll (born August 18, 1924 in Duisburg , † January 10, 1977 in Gelsenkirchen ) was a German actor of the 1960s and 1970s.

biography

As a soldier in World War II he was taken prisoner by the British, from which he was only released in 1948, and immediately began an unsuccessful career at the Regensburg Theater . Then he got by in various jobs until 1954, e.g. B. as a soccer coach. In 1954 he went to Nuremberg to the theater there, where he stayed until 1957. This was followed by positions in Aachen, Bremen and Hamburg, where he began working on television at the same time and finally became known nationwide in 1966 with the Francis Durbridge street sweeper Melissa . Between 1966 and 1972 he starred in four of the later Edgar Wallace films shot in color . His last known role was that of the grumpy detective Schröder in the series Derrick in the mid-1970s . In June 1967 his mother died of cardiac embolism and his 15-year-old son Alois from his first marriage died in a moped accident within a few hours. From February 1971 until his untimely death he was married to the pop singer Edina Pop , his fourth marriage . He was buried in the family grave in the old cemetery of Zeitlarn near Regensburg.
