content

Billy Joe Cudlip travels west with Al and a priest. The trio avoids any violence in their trickery. In an attack on a carriage they steal the wages of miners, but lose a horse; in search of him, they meet the engineer Novak, who is responsible for the funds. The experienced cudlip takes the greenhorn under his wing. The next attack turns out to be a trap, because Novak saw through the trio.

The Burton bandits, who are also interested in the money, are put to flight by the trio. In this way they become heroes of the miners and of the town of Silver Canyon. Cudlip is even supposed to become sheriff, he accepts the post at the advice of Novak.

But soon the Burton bandits take hostages in town. Cudlip can outsmart them with a trick, but he now has to defend the miners' fortune against his former partners and fight alongside Novak.

Reviews

“Everything is there to provide exciting entertainment; above all an exemplary cast. "

"Routinely staged spaghetti westerns."

"Funny, but quite average attempt ... to shoot a noble western based on the American model. [...] Bud Spencer without a beard and a sympathy bonus."

“(Stegani) manages to tell an interesting story that, on the one hand, uses elements of the father-son western; on the other hand it is about the transformation of a cunning criminal into a morally thinking citizen. "
