Hallelujah ... Amigo (Original title: ! Si può fare ... amigo ) is a 1971 comedic incurred spaghetti westerns . Directed by Maurizio Lucidi , Bud Spencer and Jack Palance play the leading roles in the film, which premiered in German-speaking countries on June 9, 1972 and has been re-evaluated under various titles.

Hiram Coburn makes his way through life with wit and skill as well as his physical strength. One day he witnesses the death of old Anderson leaving a hut for his grandson Chip. Hiram promises to take care of the boy. He is nowhere safe from Sonny, who wants to marry him to his sister Mary using all means, because Hiram has dishonored her. Immediately after the wedding he wants to kill him. In the meantime, Coburn received numerous offers, some of them absurdly high, to sell the Chips hut and, because he always refused, became the target of numerous attacks and attacks. Coburn can withstand all adversities, pacify Sonny and discovers the oil well below the property. Chip is rich; secured Hiram's future as a stepfather.

criticism

The lexicon of international films writes: “Partly amusing spoofing trigger-happy spaghetti westerns, but too broad for their few ideas.” Christian Keßler sees “one of the more acceptable examples of the western comedy genre”. The Italian critics put the screenplay of Azcona with its satirical motifs over the direction of Lucidi.

Remarks

The film was re-dubbed after the great financial returns of the Spencer / Hill films, whereby the gags were considerably coarsened and even the horse was given sentences that are supposed to be funny. The title of this re-dubbing is Der Dicke in Mexico - this version has been shortened considerably. The spectacle snake and the buffalo is an alternative title to the original synchro, this version is not complete.

Rocky Roberts sings the film song "Can be Done" (by film composer Bacalov and Sergio Bardotti ) .
