They called him Mücke (original title Lo chiamavano Bulldozer ) is an Italian-German action comedy from 1978 with Bud Spencer in the leading role. The premiere in Germany was on October 6, 1978.

content

Mücke is an Italian fisherman and former professional American football player whose boat was damaged by the periscope of an American submarine. Until his boat is repaired, Mücke is unemployed and spends his time in Porto di Livorno (on the Tuscan coast ), where he is waiting for a new Thompson injector. This nozzle can only be obtained for him through the local American military garrison, Camp Darby . There, however, he is recognized by Sergeant Kempfer, who resents Mücke for his withdrawal from sport and therefore refuses to hand over the nozzle. In a bar he meets some US soldiers , who are led by Sergeant Kempfer, and local crooks who often get into arguments and fights with the soldiers, in which Mücke is also involved at some point.

Since the soldiers are no longer allowed to fight with them, otherwise they will be punished, they challenge the Italians to a football game that the Italians do not have to win: it is enough if they score a point. The crooks ask Mücke if he can train them. He refuses at first because he has vowed never to play again. He later explains his reason to one of the Italians after protecting him from the bully and debt collector Orso. Mücke decides to help them and trains the Italians, but not without getting rid of a few problems. Among other things, he gets Orso for the team, because they need a striker, and with the typical Bud Spencer method - with his fists. He also has to free almost the entire team from a gambler's cave shortly before the game , in which they were cheated. This leads to a solid brawl .

At the big game, the Americans, on the orders of Sergeant Kempfer, play emphatically harsh and unfair; For example, the Americans sometimes have 30 players instead of the permitted 13, and thus 17 too many players. All Italian players are at risk of dropping out early due to injuries. Mücke therefore decides at short notice to take action himself. He achieves the minimum goal of winning points for his team through a touchdown , in which he knocks down the goal and the substitute Sergeant Kempfer and hits the football for the touchdown so hard that it bursts. Kempfer wants to take revenge on Mücke with a blow with a baton , but accidentally meets his highest-ranking superior, who doesn’t like him anyway.

criticism

"Routine pleasure game from the popular Bud Spencer beating series."

Trivia

  • In a running gag , Mücke is asked to slam a door forcefully because it is stuck, or to simply close it, which he does, whereby the respective door breaks or swings back and forth continuously and there are further side effects of Mücke's strengths.
  • After Mücke discovered a card trick in an illegal casino, in the German dubbed version he pointed out that not even Klaus Kinski had any success with this trick in the movie Nobody . This means the movie Nobody is the greatest , in which Terence Hill plays the leading role.
  • Joe Bugner , who played Orso, is a former professional boxer and competed against Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali , among others . He can also be seen in other films alongside Bud Spencer.

music

In the film, Spencer and the team sing the song Quien te lo dijo . Among other things, Bud accompanies the song with the acoustic guitar.

The title song for the film, Bulldozer by Oliver Onions ( Guido & Maurizio De Angelis ), was released as a single and reached number 2 in the German charts.

DVD release

The film was released on DVD on March 3, 2005 by Paramount.
