action

14-year-old Al finds an old oil lamp in an old junk shop where he works. When he starts cleaning the lamp, a large, bear-strong ghost appears. The ghost claims that it has been locked in the magic lamp for over 200 years. Since Al has freed him, he is the new master of the Djinn , who has to fulfill all his wishes. But he can only do this as long as the sun is shining, at night he has no magical powers. Al leads a wonderful life, he wins a water ski race and a basketball game for his school team that has been hopelessly behind - he even has a Rolls-Royce with the Djinn as his chauffeur. However, his luck does not last long as the police become aware of the mysterious ghost. In addition, the underworld organization forges a plan to usurp world domination with the help of the spirit. If it falls into the hands of someone who is evil, then the jinn would have to obey him too. Al and the ghost fly on a carpet to the Bermuda Triangle and Al throws the magic lamp into it. Now nobody can abuse the jinn anymore. But Al doesn't want to miss his friend either and wishes the spirit to become human.

criticism

"'Aladin' was Bud Spencer's first Hollywood production, who doesn't cut the best figure in this clumsy 'Charming Jeannie' blend, less because of his corpulence."

On the other hand, the lexicon of international film praised : "A thoroughly appealing modern fairy tale that almost completely dispenses with the usual Spencer brawls."
