Fabio Frizzi (born July 2, 1951 in Bologna ) is an Italian composer of film music .

Life

At the beginning of his career, Frizzi often worked with Vincenzo Tempera and Franco Bixio , briefly with the group Goblin . He was best known for his work in the field of Italian horror films of the late 1970s and early 1980s. In this field he is one of the most famous composers , alongside Riz Ortolani and Bruno Nicolai . He worked with the cult director Lucio Fulci above average , whose often slightly surreal moods and stories he accompanied with correspondingly atmospheric soundtracks. His work on Über dem Jenseits and A Zombie hung on the bell rope (both by Lucio Fulci) enjoy cult status today. But Frizzi was also active outside of this genre: Among other things, he wrote the music for the Spencer film Aladin .

Quentin Tarantino used a piece from the soundtrack of Sette note in nero in the movie Kill Bill .

With the decline of Italian genre cinema in the mid-1980s, Frizzi also became quieter.

The television presenter Fabrizio Frizzi , who died in 2018, was his younger brother.
