criticism

The Catholic Film Service wrote: “Another variant of speculation with the prejudices and fears of a troubled population, whose socially critical attitude is pure hypocrisy.” The lexicon of international film that emerged from this : “Product of the vigilante film wave, speculative and brutal.” The Italian criticism saw Girolami “in the footsteps of Sam Peckinpah, whose slow motion he used as pure decoration and left space for a kind of neorealistic chronicle of the grievances of the bourgeoisie and the spoiled, wasted youth of the capital, all garnished with an omnipresent avenger, the remarkably effective one Anthony Steffen "
