Franco Diogene

Concetto Franco Diogene (born October 20, 1947 in Catania , † May 27, 2005 in Genoa ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Diogene is the son of a Sicilian father and a Ligurian mother. The family moved to Genoa when he was six years old. There he spent his school days and youth. At a young age he received a contract at the “Sala Carignano” and from 1972 at the “Teatro Duse”. Gianfranco De Bosio signed him for a part in Anconetanna . After a first appearance in a Franco & Ciccio -Komödie 1966 offered Italo Svevo film version A life first television experience; Since 1973 Diogene, who is considerably bulky, has been on screen. He played mainly in comedies, in which he was cast in roles that seem amusing due to his body size, regularly and in a total of almost 80 films. The actor, who is considered a bon vivant and interested in both spirit and philosophy, also took on television roles in the last decade of his life.

Diogene was married to Mariella Denari, with whom he lived in Newport Beach , USA. He died at the age of 57 as a result of a heart attack .
