Gianfranco De Bosio
Gianfranco De Bosio (born September 16, 1924 in Verona ) is an Italian film director , theater director and screenwriter .
Life
De Bosio was already interested in theater directing when he was still at school and from 1949 directed various plays that were performed in a small theater in his hometown, the Ruzante . In the following year he staged an opera for the first time; for this work he became widely known, for example in 1986 he staged Giuseppe Verdi's Un ballo in maschera at the Vienna State Opera with Luciano Pavarotti under the direction of Claudio Abbado . From 1963 onwards he worked as a film director at irregular intervals, with his greatest success being the mini-series Moses .
