Bruno Corbucci

Bruno Corbucci (born October 23, 1931 in Rome ; † September 7, 1996 there ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Corbucci was the younger brother of Sergio Corbucci . He was initially active as a screenwriter from the mid-1950s, especially often - as in his entire career - for comedies , first with Totò , later with Franco & Ciccio . His first film as a director was the James Bond spoof James Tones operazione UN One of his rare pure serious films is the spaghetti western The Longest Hunt ( Spara, Gringo, spara ) ( 1968 ).

His scripts were often written in collaboration with Mario Amendola ; Among his 50 or so films, the police film series around Nico Giraldi ( Tony Marroni in German ), the “super cops” portrayed by Tomás Milián , and some late comedies by Bud Spencer and Terence Hill stand out .

In some films he used the pseudonyms Frank B. Corlish and Dean Whitcomb .
