Birgit Steinegger (born November 4, 1948 in Bern ) is a Swiss actress , parodist and entertainer.

She is the daughter of a Swiss and a Swede. After taking ballet, violin and piano lessons, she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She then took acting lessons, first in Bern, and later at the Lecoq drama school in Paris . She then worked as a freelancer on various stages, including at the Bern City Theater and the Biel-Solothurn City Theater . Birgit Steinegger became famous for her imitations of Swiss personalities.
