Erwin Kohlund

Erwin Kohlund (born February 23, 1915 in Dortmund ; † February 29 / March 1, 1992 in Stäfa or Männedorf , Switzerland ) was a German-Swiss actor and theater director .

Life

The son of the actor, theater painter and director of the Bern City Theater (1947–1953) Ekkehard Kohlund and his wife Anna Helene born. Theiss attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . He received his first engagement in 1937 at the city theater of Troppau . He then played in Meiningen and in the 1939/40 season at the Karlsruhe Theater .

In 1939 he came to Switzerland. He worked here at the theaters of Lucerne , Basel , Bern and Zurich . Kohlund, who had already worked in a Swiss short film in 1938, became known in 1941 as Sali Manz in the film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet in the village after Gottfried Keller . He married his film partner Margrit Winter in 1943.

After that he was mostly just a supporting actor in various films. Only in the money and spirit of Franz Schnyder did he get the male lead again as a partner of his wife. From 1956 to 1985 he staged the Tell Plays nine times in Altdorf , and in 1960 he directed a performance at the Great World Theater in Einsiedeln . With his wife Margrit Winter he had two children, Franziska Kohlund and Christian Kohlund ; they also became actors.
