Werner Wollenberger

Werner Wollenberger (born June 6, 1927 in Heilbronn , Germany ; † October 17, 1982 in Zurich ) was a Swiss writer , publicist , satirist and director .

biography

Werner Wollenberger grew up in Basel , where he studied German. From August 1947 he wrote texts for the Kikeriki cabaret and was also a director there. In 1950 he joined the team of authors at the Cabaret Fédéral . He wrote programs for Walter Roderer and the actor duo Voli Geiler and Walter Morath as well as for Die Kleine Freiheit in Munich and for the Kom (m) ödchen . He later became an artistic advisor at the Schauspielhaus Zurich .

Wollenberger was one of the most popular authors and directors of Swiss cabaret shows and musicals (new version of Die kleine Niederdorfoper , text to Mis Dach isch dr Himmel vo Züri ). The spectrum of his activities also included work for radio and television ( Ein Fall für Männdli ), film scripts ( SOS - glacier pilot , taxi driver Bänz ), song texts, newspaper columns, theater and film reviews. He also worked as a translator (Musical Promises, Promises ; German lyrics for Es war die Lerche by Ephraim Kishon ).

Wollenberger was also editor-in-chief of Zürcher Woche from 1962 to 1967 , co-editor-in-chief of Weltwoche for a short time in 1969 and co-editor-in-chief of annabelle from 1978 to 1980 .
