Armando Dotto (born January 13, 1946 in Arbon ) is a Swiss actor , director and author .

Armando Dotto first studied acting and directing at the Zurich stage studio . In 1969/70 he trained as a television realizer and director at Swiss television . First theater engagements followed in Germany and Austria, including in 1968 at the Kammerspielkreis Lübeck and from 1969 to 1970 on tours with productions at the Rottweil Zimmer Theater . In 1971 he received a guest engagement at the Klagenfurt City Theater . Between 1970 and 1982 Armando Dotto was engaged partly as a guest and partly as a member of the ensemble at the Basel theaters . Here he participated in over 40 performances, including 1970 as Billaud-Varennes in Büchner's Dantons Tod , in Dieter Fortes Martin Luther and Thomas Münzer , in 1971 as Grimm in Schiller's Die Räuber and in 1975 as a beggar / constable in the Threepenny Opera by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill .

Since the mid-1970s, Armando Dotto played and plays leading roles in television games and series in Switzerland and Germany. In addition, he worked as a screenwriter and director for theater, film and television. He made documentary, industrial, advertising and commissioned films for the private industry and for Swiss television. He is the owner and managing director of a film and television production company in Basel .
