Swiss Plastics

Kunststoff.swiss (spelling in the word mark KUNSTSTOFF.swiss ; until 2013 Kunststoff-Verband Schweiz - KVS) is the branch association of the Swiss plastics industry , which comprises around 800 companies with 35,000 employees . The office is located in Aarau .

history

The association was called the Swiss Plastics Association (KVS; French Association Suisse des matières plastiques ; Italian Associazione Svizzera delle materie plastiche ) until 2013 and KUNSTSTOFF.swiss since January 1, 2020. The first president of the KVS was Alexander F. Knoll. From 1998 to 2008 Peter Weigelt was chairman of the association. He was followed by Doris Fiala in 2008 . In January 2016, Fiala handed over the chairmanship to Silvio Ponti.

The KVS, in which around 60 percent of all Swiss plastics processing companies were represented in 2013 and which at that time comprised 15 professional associations, merged at the end of 1991 from the Working Group of the Swiss Plastics Industry (ASKI) and the Association of the Swiss Plastics Industry (VKI). The KVS started its work on January 1, 1992 and at that time represented the interests of 700 companies and 25,000 employees. Among other things, KVS was already a co-sponsor of the plastics training and technology center (KATZ) in Aarau.

In 2016, Swiss Plastics supported the referendum against the Energy Strategy 2050 package of measures .

At the 2019 general meeting , KUNSTSTOFF.swiss was approved as the new name.

purpose

KUNSTSTOFF.swiss is the responsible organization in the world of work for the apprenticeships plastics technologist EFZ and plastics processor EBA . The tasks also include the perception and representation of the economic policy interests of the members, lobbying in the support and advice of the authorities with regard to all legislative measures, public relations and communication, the promotion of professional training and further education as well as representation of interests and activities in environmental protection and Disposal area.

Swiss Plastics Expo

The trade fair organized by Messe Luzern will be held for the sixth time with the Swiss Plastics Expo 2020 .
