history

The company was founded in 1971 by the brothers Bernhard and Georges Alpstäg as Swisspor AG in Boswil (Canton Aargau). In the two production companies Kork AG (today: Alporit AG) and Baukork AG in Steinhausen (Canton Zug, Switzerland) they produced insulation materials from EPS and PUR / PIR. The Baukork AG then launched with 14 employees.

From the 1980s, various companies active in the field of building materials and construction elements were taken over:

The resulting group of companies was organized under the umbrella of Swisspor Holding AG. The production facilities in Switzerland and Europe have also been continuously expanded and merged.

In 1996 Alporit AG received certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001. From 1998 onwards, Swisspor Holding began to expand into the EU market by taking over the production and sales company Swisspor Deutschland GmbH in Dankerode . In 1999 the company expanded to Eastern Europe, with the commissioning of the first insulation material production plant of Swisspor polska sp. z oo in Chrzanów (Poland) and SC Swisspor SA in Ploiești (Romania), founded in 1998 .

In 2006, expansion began in Austria with the group of Prima Bau- und Dämmsysteme (brand name Primanit ) with three plants in Gleiß - Sonntagberg (Primanit-Werk) (company name changed on May 3, 2012 from PRIMA Bau- und Dämmsysteme Gesellschaft mbH & CO KG in Swisspor Österreich GmbH & Co KG, with AWA GmbH as limited partner), Stadl-Paura (AWA-Andernach) and Völs (Swisspor Group Austria).

In February 2010, the Swisspor Group became a member of the Energy Agency for Business (EnAW).
