Christa Siems (born June 28, 1916 ; † May 27, 1990 in Hamburg ) was a German folk actress .

Life

A year before her high school graduation was staggered by Christa Siems Dusseldorf to the local theater to learn the profession of actress. Engagements in Flensburg, Neuss and Halle followed before she returned to Hamburg in 1946. In the same year she became a member of the ensemble in the St. Pauli Theater , to which she belonged until 1981, and embodied the most varied of characters in countless pieces with local Hamburg color, often at the side of her colleague Trude Possehl . Christa Siems was the only woman to play the Zitronenjette in Paul Möhring 's folk piece of the same name in over 300 performances , a role that was traditionally male, e.g. B. with Wilhelm Seybold (1900), Ernst Budzinski (1940) or Henry Vahl (1971).

Christa Siems also became known through her radio play work on the radio. Since 1940 she worked in addition to feature films , television plays and series with, so in for the Katz (1940) and Pension Schoeller , as the wife of Otto Lüthje in the house at the Sturgeon from the series of steel mesh with Rudolf Platte , in Port Police with Monika Peitsch , in the harbor hospital with Anneli Granget , on police radio calls with Karl-Heinz Hess , in the crime scene and in permission, my name is Cox with Günter Pfitzmann .

From 1975 to 1982 she became known to many children as Grandma Kluge on Sesame Street , where she ran a mom and pop shop . In 1978, when the Hamburg tram was stopped in favor of the subway, a record was released on the occasion of which Siems and the actor Günter Lüdke retold the history of the Hamburg tram.

Christa Siems was buried in the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg. In May 2018, the Hamburg Senate decided to rename part of the Grindelberg park to Christa-Siems-Park. The park is north of Hallerstrasse , where Siems lived.
